DLA, Incapacity benefits and their new names

Hey folks,
I know this has been covered a lot already but I couldn't quite get to the answer that i need and would therefore value your advice.

My wife current gets DLA both care and mobility components.

She also get Incapacity Benefit.

These are both related to her severe arthritis.

We've recently recieved notice that we need to apply for ESA in replacement for IB.

I also know that there is something going on with DLA - I think this is to be replaced by PIP.

Can anyone please confirm that i understand this correctly i.e. IB is now ESA and DLA will be replaced by PIP??

Are the two connected or are they independant benefits? I.e. if one decides to stop paying you will it automatically transfer across to the other one?
