Hi I finaly received my notification about the switchover from Incapacity Benefit to Employment Support Allowance last week. I have a couple of questions about it if anyone can advise please?
The letter says they will pay the ESA from 30th May 2013 and this will replace my IB.
I have been placed in the Work Related Activity Group.
How long will I have to wait until a Personal Advisor writes to me contact with me reguarding the work-focused interviews?
I may also be required to attend a work-focused health-related assessment with a health care professional.
How likely is this?
The letter also says that if they have told me I am placed in the support group: A work-focussed interview is an interview I can VOLUNTEER to undertake with a specialist adviser to help me focuss on or discuss moving back to work over time.
Does this apply to me, or is the WRAG different to the SUPPORT group?
The letter says the amounts they show me apply from 30th May to 27th November 2013.
What will happen after 27th November?!
Also will my Personal Advisor at the Job Centre take into account I have a fobia of being in unfamiliar places and with strangers (as described in my ATOS form!). Infact if I did have to go back to work the only work I can see me doing would be something Self Employed as I could work from home in my own time and health restrictions and with people and surroundings I am familiar with around me!
Being in my early 40's would I get the help and support to transfer into Self Employment (after being unemployed for many years) ? Or are they more likely to force me back into employment thats unsuitable to be another tick on their data charts?!
Quite worrying to be honest. A long confusing letter waffling on and repeating itself yet I still cant fathom it out! :o
I am also considering submitting a claim for Disability Living Allowance (or whatever the new equivelant is) as my main condition is slowly worsening. 2 previous attempts over the past 6 years have been denied however, despite appealing on the first. But now I am noticing more things I am not able to do because of my health condition and do feel that others care for me on a day to day basis far more than I realise if I sit and think about it. :(
Thanks for the assistance. :)
