Hi everyone
I am hoping someone can help me with some advice. I have stumbled across some information that seems to suggest I may be eligable for disability element of working tax credit. The only thing is I dont know if Im reading it wrong or being over generous with my situation.
Il explain a little about my curcumstances. I work full time but have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I am currently claiming low rate care element of dla for the help my husband gives me at home. If he didnt help me I would be unable to work. Work have recently changed my hours to dayshift only (maybe a temporary change or permanent depending if symptoms go into remission or stay) and occupational health dr and consultant advised I shouldnt work more than 3 shifts in a row (so therefore a week). They have advised I should stay on 12 hour shifts as it means more breaks during shifts and less days worked. Work have also adjusted my work environment so I have a special chair and an ergonomic mouse and keyboard which has helped alot.
My questions are do you have to claim working tax credit to get the disabled element (my wage is over the limit so wouldnt qualify) and would my low rate care dla qualify or do I need to be on high rate to qualify. I have read the information and am not sure of this.
Any help greatly appreciated and I apologise for the essay just wanted to explain everything
