Where to start, my parnter finally got a job at the beginning of the year after being unemployed for a while, he does the domestics in a care home. Anyway shortly after working there, his mother has been diagnosed with cancer and it isn't looking good at all. As a result of this and given the fact he is in an environment of very ill people, he has had a melt down and this morning has been signed off work until the 12th. My questions is what happens now? Do i have to inform working tax credits? And what about housing benefit? We had just sorted all this out with him working and was better off, now it has all crumbled down and just don't know what to do :( Also, can his work sack him for being ill? Will this sanction him?
