My husband took redundancy last year; I work but not brilliantly paid; we have three children and a mortgage.
My husband is looking for work and has even started a business in an effort to create work. The business is very early days and has yet to provide any income.
The thing is, our redundancy money and savings are about to end and we have checked the benefits calculator and it looks like we are eligible for tax credits and JSA (we haven't claimed this yet). What we don't know is how creating a business, which we hope will start to earn but is likely to be very erratic if it makes a profit initially, affects benefits.
We don't know what to do and can't seem to find an answer. CAn anyone advise?
