Hello
My nephew is suffering from Psychosis, Depression, Anxiety and Paranoia. I think I know where his illness is going. He has been in hospital for about six weeks but this illness has been going on for over two years now and he is on a series of medications.
He can't work and is living on ESA which is about £53 per week. Not only does he have to buy his food out of this, but he has to pay for all of his utilities etc (as do many people). He's a lovely lad who wants to work but no-one is going to employ him the way he is. Sadly his father has a serious mental illness and genetics indicate the likelihood that my nephew could soon be diagnosed with the same condition.
I would like to think there is some financial help out there for him - is there still such a thing as sickness/incapacity benefit? Or would he be entitled to DLA. He needs so much support.
