Are winnings taken as income when claiming?

Hello all :)

I understand that winnings from betting/lottery etc are not taxed in the UK, however, could anyone tell me whether they are considered when applying for HB and other benefits? I'm only talking £100 here and there, nothing life changing unfortunately!
