Should my parner claim carers allowance?

Hi,

I would be very grateful for the good advice of the people on here.

I am currently on incapacity benefit (CB) and due to be moved to ESA (or not If I am found fit for work by atos would appeal obviously) within the next few mths, review due.

I get an adult dependant addition for my partner of £57.60 a week because we have a little lad of 4 who has autism and gets high care rate of DLA.

1 Just wondering should my partner put in a claim for carers allowance for our wee lad. I understand that I would loose adult delendant addition of £57.60 but partner would then get £58.45 + her national insurance credit?

2 Just as a matter of interest does the adult dependant addition still get paid with ESA for existing IB claimants who currently get it and successfuly get ESA?

Its hard to know the best thing to do, one thing is I'm fully taxed on whole of my IB as I get an occupational pension but my partner is a non tax payer as she is not working.
