Hi,
Just a quick question for you lovely people out there who can help.
We have an agreement with tax credits to pay back an overpayment at £10 a month, this was back in June 12, the agreement states final payment to be made 18/02/2025 the full amount was for 1,500. Now I know its a long time to pay back but that was agreed back then..Now only last week I recieve one of those letters from HMRC saying "We have not made a payment"..so I call up with all the payment details from the Bank, HMRC then say its there mistake very sorry...then ask If we can pay any more a month! We are lost for words..I explained to the lady at HMRC that we have not won the lottery.. My Husband is working I am expecting my 2nd child now, so there is no way we can pay more...
The question I would like to ask is can they Legally ask us to pay more when we have an agreement in Black & white?
I thank you all for your time. x:rotfl:
