Hi there, help on understanding this please
We (myself and DH) have always received a nominal tax credit award based on our earnngs.
After receiving a pay rise, when i was issued my renewal for this year we were told we would receive £0.
In a way i was just grateful i no longer had to try understand tax credits, didn't reply to the letter and then we were withdrawn from them.
My parter was made redundant in May 2012 however as anyone would, i assumed he would get another job however to date, still no joy.
As he can no longer claim jobseekers (as i work!), thinks are very tight so i decided to have a bash as claiming tax credits again.
i sent our earnings for april 2011-2012 and april 2012-2013 to them and recived my letter yesterday basing our earnings on last year with another big fat £0.
so, when will they take into consideration what we have actually earned this year? next year when we might not even need their help?
sorry if this is long winded, but it's all greek to me!
