Ok, i have another thread already on whether my ex can claim CB if i can't because of my partner's earnings...
BUT - my partner just did the HMRC calculator with all the accurate information and it said he DOESN'T qualify to pay the High Income Benefit Tax (i grossly underestimated his pension contributions when i filled it in).
So, do we have to do anything now? Do we still have to do a self-assessment (his gross salary is above £50k, his adjusted net income is below it)? Or can we just leave it be until something in his income changes?
I'm not excited to lose out on the benefit, but i don't want to cheat anything or end up with a big retrospective tax bill.
