Hoping someday can help me, my parents have just received a council tax arrears bill for £1,600 ( my mom had picked up one extra shift at the care home she works out and had not realised that it would reduce her benefit )
My parents also receive housing benefit.
What I would like to know is, if I pay the arrears off for them in a lump sum payment will this affect their benefits? Would it be classed as additional income for them?
