Where do I claim Housing allowance and Council Tax Benefit.

Hello there :)

I have never claimed benefits before so I am unsure about one or two things.
I need to claim Housing allowance and Council Tax Benefit...do I do that at the same time I claim income support (when speaking to the job centre) or do I contact my local council directly.
