Just wondering on 20k income for joint couple.

Hiya,

We recieved our final letter of tax credits today and I am abit shocked tbh.

I was getting paid tax credits £50 a month as our estimated income was 24k, which went up to £140 when I updated them with my childcare details. (So £90 was childcare only)

Have got our letter today which informs us we are entitled to around 3100(£270 of which is childcare for the year which is correct as well as we only need childcare for 12 weeks or something totatalling £360 and I will be back on Mat Leave) which 2800 has left to be paid at £252 a month or something...

So we are recieving £252 a month.

Is anyone on a similar wage can confirm this is correct? I am on 5k ish and partner is on 15k ish works out just under 20k. And assumingly £25 a month of that is for childcare... because it seems they have spread the whole cost over space of the year instead of the fact we are paying it now.

Im just really scared of over payments and having to pay it back next year as we will need the money next year alot more then this year!

I find it strange how they started paying the full £90 out of our £120 childcare costs then have spread it out over the year now they have sent us our full entitlement?
