Working tax credit

I am registered blind and have been placed on a Permanent Health Insurance scheme through work, paying 75% of my salary, I am still classed as employed although do not physically go out to work, I receive a monthly pay slip, pay tax and national insurance contributions on my salary and do not claim anything such as jsa or esa from the government, I have been told by the tax office that I am not eligible to claim working tax credits because I do not actually go out to work and am classed as being off work sick, although I am not being paid statuary sick pay.
Does anyone know if this decision is correct?
