I'm wondering if anyone can help me out i had a joint claim in 2004 with my ex partner.since then we have now been told that he over earnt that year but we were not told this at renewal. Years down the line i keep getting letters from debt recovery companies demanding £2,287.20. Can anyone give me advice on what to do can they demand this all from me after so long?
I have since had a single claim with them but stopped claiming in 2009 as i was no longer entilited to tax credits as mine and my new partners wages were over the freshold.
Also they are chasing me for the full amount surely if we have to pay this back we would have to pay half each?
Any advice would be greatly welcome.
