First of all i would like to apologise for my utter stupidity - i'm sure this has already been covered however very very new to the forum and i cannot find it, nor can i understand any of the benefits calculators - i honestly do not know how i have survived until now!

Im a single mum with one dependant and ive finally got an interview tomorrow after 6 months of applying for jobs! Now i personally do not mind what hours i work whether it be full time or part time but i have been told that if i go into full time work i shall no longer receive housing benefit? I know on a minimum wage basis at 37.5 hours a week there is no way i would be able to afford my rent along with my utilities without help - so 'im wondering if anyone can advise me?

I need to get a job as it it driving me crazy now my daughter is at school, i have tried to do the benefits calculator but i do not understand the majority of questions about net income and taxable benefits - yes ive lived under a rock! I've only just literally been introduced to benefits having been a worker all my life and so its all new to me! again yes i apologise for my stupidity! I currently receive (as far as i can understand anyway!) full housing and council tax benefit. child tax credits and job seekers. I would like to know what the differences are in working full time and part time in terms of how it affects benefits - and surely its on whatever wage your receive?

Any advise gratefully accepted
