Hi, trying to help a relative with a problem.
He has been a full time carer for about 5 years. Those duties have now ceased due to the demise of his mother.
He was on carers allowance and income support. This obviously now changes.
He has the option and infact probably the need to take a small occupational pension very early, he is 56 with little chance of future employment.
Now I know things may have changed but I understand that contribution based JSA would be reduced by 50p per £1 over £50 per week pension income.
But not having worked for 5 years he will be on Income based JSA??? yes?
Pension will be about £30 per week. He would probably take a sub £16k lump sum.
Given the above what will happen please
