Advice Please

I'm a funded PhD student, but I've just been advised by my PhD supervisor to take a leave of absence whilst I sort myself out from depression. I'm in the process of sorting out a note etc.

So essentially that means within the next few days I'll no longer be registered as a student, and have no income due to a medical condition.

Can anybody please give me any advice on what I can claim/do about housing benefit/living allowance etc.
