Child tax credit renewal (self-emp) - No change in income - Underpayment due?

Hi all :-)

I am just looking for a little advise from anyone that is in the same situation as us.

We have received a provisional renewal notice for 2012/2013 for HMRC. It is provisional because I am self-employed (4 hours a week as a cleaner) and haven't done my year end (husband is employed).

Our joint income for 2012/2013 is obviously the same as the estimated income for 2013/2014. However the amount they have said we were due for 2012/2013 (2894.53) is almost 1.5k lower than for 2013/2014 (4231.43)!? Go figure?! We had another baby in May 2012 (2 children now) so from Apr to May there was a slight difference in the award but this had not affected the annual award by much.

What I am unsure of is why they are saying they don't owe us anything when the annual awards are so different based on the exact same income!? The 2012/2013 provisional award shows the actual income figures I gave them last week so they are calculating on the right figures as far as I can see. Will it make a difference once I do my self-employed year end accounts (which takes me all of ten minutes lol) and let them know?

Anyone else ever been in this situation? Would be grateful of any advice anyone might be able to give. Thanks :D
