this may be simple for you all so I am sorry if this is dumb to you.
Last year due to being unemployed for most the year my earnings for tax year 12-13 was around £7000 and also the year before that was the same. So from me starting work in Dec 2012 and claiming WTC, I have been receiving a very high WTC award of around £50 a week based first on 11-12 tax year, because it has just been confirmed that I am being kept permanently (temp contract before) I have just phoned WTC to do my renew and was told this years is being based on £7000 from 12-13, I then had to stop them and inform them that this year 13-14 I am going to earn around £13500. They was then very unhelpful and could not give me the answer to the following question :(
Using the tax calculator I see that 13k + you do not get any award so my question is from April 5th this year up until whenever they sort this renew out (up to 6 weeks) will I have to pay back every penny WTC I have received from April 5th? Or is there a £5000 disregard buffer still so that they will then base it on 13.5k - 5000 = 8.5k? Thank you in advance
