I am a lone parent claiming JSA, the rules state that I am allowed to look for work within schools hours. My job seekers agreement states I have to look for work 9am-3pm.
My adviser has sent me a job that is 8.30am - 1.30pm. As it happens I had already applied for this as I appreciate to find work between 9-3 is going to be virtually impossible. I was told by another adviser that any jobs I applied for that weren't mandated I didn't have to follow up if I didn't want to. Now I have officially been sent this job I will have to follow it through, my concern is I don't know where the job is its just 'company confidential' The nursery opens at 8 so if it is less than 1/2 hr away from there then no problem but further than this I wont be able to do it as I have no one to help with childcare. By me applying off my own back if I do get an interview and it is too far away I am within my rights to say thanks but unfortunately I wont be able to attend.
Now as I have been sent the job by the adviser if I get an interview and offered the job it looks like I will have to take it, I just hope it is within 1/2hr journey time.
Is an adviser allowed to send me a job that is outside the agreed hours and do I have to attend interview if the job is further than 1/2 from nursery.
I appreciate this is all speculation, I might not even get an interview but just wondered where I stand if i do.
