I'm having to take some long term leave from work due to my mum being diagnosed with cancer and having major surgery.
The leave is so i can take my children to school and pick them up as well as care for her. I did look at getting the kids into after school club but it would cost me £90 a week and I only work 20 hours.
I was wondering how this would affect tax credits. I'm going to be unpaid for around 18 weeks, will my tax credits go up for this time as I'm going to be loosing around £900 a month. Luckily my partner has just got a full time role, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do it, and would not have the precious time with my mum I want.
