Tax Code changed despite outstanding dispute

Hi

I have been assured that the dispute is recorded correctly against mine and my husband's records, and that it still hasn't been closed/investigated. But my husband's tax code has been changed to the previously threatened tax code. Tax Credit peeps say that this should not happen, and are 'looking into it' - has anyone else had this happen?
