Benefits after redundancy

hi...just wondering if there are any benefit clued up people out there willing to offer me advice please

currently, i am working 18 hours per week, my earnings are over the £100 threshold for carers allowance (i get middle rate dla for my son) however because i pay childcare of £85 , carers allowance are allowed to disregard so much therfore i am able to claim the full amount of carers allowance and have been doing since 2 year ago.

my oh has been made redundant so we wont need to be paying out childcare any longer, therefore my carers allowance will stop.
i thought my oh could claim a carers premium of £32 as he will be putting in a claim for jsa-contribution based. however i have heard today that he wont be able to claim the carers premium or carers as he can only claim that if he is on jsa-income based :(
im really rubbish at all of this, we arre pretty clueless...

we went to cab this morning- what a waste of time :( at first they asked my earnings last year, told them £7000, he wrote it down and went offm came back and gave me calculations based on £700 , he only missed the 0 off... he then went away and came back with more codswallop....

anyhow can anyone please give any advise on our entitlements...

my son is 10 and we have also have 2 girls age 4&5,

oh the adviser at cab also stated that i would get working tax even though i only work 18 hours a week as the rules are different if you have a disabled child... however i cant find anything on the internet to back this up :(

tia
