Sorry if there's a better forum for this, wasn't sure.
I'm after advice on behalf of my niece. She is a single mum with a 19 month old son. She rents a housing association 2 bedroom home that she receives housing benefit for.
She has received 2 letters, one from the housing benefit people, and one from the housing association saying she will her benefit cut as she is deemed to have a spare bedroom.
When she spoke to somebody about this to explain she only has a two bedroom house, she was told it's because the toddler can share her bedroom with her, thus making his bedroom spare.
I've looked at various websites and they all seem to suggest he is entitles to his own room.
Can anyone confirm for me this is definitely the case?
Thanks.
