Hi peeps
Hope I'm in the right place.
Trying to help mum fill out a form AA1A. So far it has taken us 3 weeks to get the strength to even attempt it LOL.
The problem I have, well we have, is what do you say about medication and how it affects you.
Mum has had terrible arthritis and was finding life pretty difficult without me being on constant call 24/7.
The GP has been brilliant with her and has put her on a load of tablets that at last relieve all but the occasional twinge. Paracemol, Tamadol, Ibrofem, Sertraline and Oramorph.
Now how are we to explain what my mum's needs are when the medication has resolved the vast majority of the pain that created those needs?
Do we explain what it is like without the medication or do we explain that she is so doped up now that she doesn't feel very much!
On this medication she can look after herself reasonably OK - in fact if she tried to iron her hand instead of her clothes she wouldn't feel a thing!
There are no side effects to this med except feeling tired and 'detached' - her words.
She is 68 and lives with my dad who is incapable of looking after himself never mind mum.
I hope someone can advise me please.
