On the 8th of April 2013 I registered as self employed for a new business. The 12 months prior to this I lived off personal savings while looking for work (in short supply in my field / location) having been made redundant in April 2012. I also applied for WTC on the same day as registering with HMRC as self employed.
My partner (full time mother / not working) and I have 1 child and claim CTC (£62 p/w) , to this joint claim I added the WTC.
On registering I was asked for estimated earnings for 2013/14 to which I entered as £10,000 and £0 for 2012/13 earnings. We have no personal savings.
Every credit calculator and web page I've seen says we should (as a couple with me working 40+ h/p/w) be getting around £89 p/w in WTC when we're only getting £42. Is this correct or have I made a miscalculation somewhere?
We're being forced to move (rented home from family member being sold) so right now every penny counts.
Thanks
