Not sure I am asking in the right place but I am currently in receipt of IB and DLA. I have just received a letter from the DWP to say that they will be phoning me in the next two weeks to discuss transfer to ESA. At 9am this morning my dad died and I understand from my mother he has left me some cash from savings as well as half the house. Because my savings will exceed 16k in the near future should I inform the DWP of this situation as I understand IB or ESA is not to be paid over 16k savings. Should I wait til they call me or be proactive and inform them? Who else do I need to tell? The system is so confusing these days.
