Hi all,
some months ago I got a letter from HMRC that I had been overpaid tax credits from 2005/6.
The amount is around £3500.
I disputed it, and they sent me back the relevant paperwork as well as recordings of my telephone calls to them and the various award notices for the period concerned.
today i got a letter back saying that they are not at fault and I still must pay the amount.
Being fair about it, I was informed in subsequent notices since 2006 that they were taking amounts for this overpayment, but it was ridiculously low amounts like £100 a year or so.
Anyway, its something that I have to sort, but now that I'm out of the TC system, do you know how long they generally offer repayment plans for ? I saw on the website reference to a 12 month period - theres no way i can afford that.
Do you know is it possible to reduce my Tax code for the next 4 or 5 years to pay it ?
