Hi , I am living in Manchester and I was wondering if anyone knows if I can get any help with Council Tax Discount/Support. I live alone and receive the Single Persons Discount. Before April 1st 2013 I received my yearly Council Tax bill. I have been paying full Council Tax in Band A for the previous year and had no rebate even though I asked them if it was possible. When April came this year I had heard of the changes and asked Manchester Council if I could fill a form in and apply for help via a Discount under the new rules. They refused and told me that my Council Tax had already been worked out for this year and I would not be entitled to any help anyway. After my Single Persons Discount I pay around £700 pounds per year Council Tax. Any advice is appreciated.
