My neighbour has asked my advice, and to be honest dont have a clue.
She is a foreign national, has the right to live/work here and works full time, but does recieve some benefits, tax credits and housing benefit.
She has a recently deceased freind whos daughter isnt getting along with the stepdad, and stepdad has told her he wants her gone, ie back to her home country.
She is eighteen, has the right to live and work here, and doenst want to go.
So my neighbour wants to put her up for a few months why she sorts out a job, place to live etc, but cant afford to if she will lose her own benefit.
Anyone advise if she would lose it, the guest wont be paying rent as hses potless, and as far as im aware wouldnt be able t claim anything?
