hi all,
i have a question about council housing.
my mom is 53 and on low income (currently looking for job). she gets help from council paying for her full rent which is £800 pcm for a single adult over 35
we had a very hard time finding a flat whom accept people on benefit and now that we did the house isn't great for the price paid ( i guess there is a reason that the landlord does accept people on DSS and no one else would have taken the flat).
now the question is, can she apply for council housing ? according to the council website they have a choice based system which i do not think my mom falls under any of their 6 category . does she have a chance of getting any flat ?
she has some health problem and may be seen as disabled. she is currently undergoing treatments to see if that helps improving the situation.
in another word, i am asking does she have any chance of getting a council housing if she is 53, privately rented and on low income ( currently on JSA) and may have some disabilities ( currently seeing Dr)
many thanks for your advice.
