My cousin has been paying NI, Class 2 contributions for many years. Unfortunately she has had to stop working. She is in her fifties and has cognitive impairment from early onset Dementia. If eligible for Employment Support Allowance, she would, I think, qualify for the support group.
She does however receive a small income from renting out a second property (where she used to live).
Im wondering if she is she eligible for NI Contribution based ESA? I understand that contribution based ESA is not related to income coming in from say savings, but does the income from her property come under this umbrella? Or is she considered as technically to be working in renting out a single property?
