hi, i'm just wondering if anyone can shed some light. My husband recieves DLA as he suffers aspergers syndrome, adhd, epiliepsy and hypermobility and severe arthritis. last year his dla award changed to an 'indefinate' award which stated that they understood his medical conditions were unlikely to ever improve.
anyway, he recieved a letter from dwp about a home visit for a local service visit. now it states that the reason for the visit is to make sure he understands how to use the simple payment method and to provide information on further services that may be available. it says that they need to see all proof of all money and savings.
he is absolutely convinced they are coming to stop his benefit. and that the 'helping you understand payments' is a cover to do an assessment to take away benefits. he says someone from his support group got this letter then their benefits stopped (i think there may be more to that though).
has anyone had a similar letter/appointment? his anxiety is through the roof as is his paranoia. can anyone reassure me that this appointment is genuinely to help him?
