Job Seekers Allowance Query

Hi All,

Sorry, wasn't sure whether to post in this forum or the 'Job Seeking' forum, but this is about my benefit so I chose this one!

Basically I will give you a quick rundown of Dates etc so you get a general idea of my problem.

11th Jan - Left my job due to a long term neck problem (Cant work full time)
21st March - Signed on. Was asked to bring 1 more bank statement to my next appointment. Applied to 'Backdate' it as I didnt know I could claim for looking for part time work.
2nd April - Took in 2nd Bank statement to my Signing on appointment
12 April - Still no money from claim. Asked at Signing on appointment, advisor told me that all items had been sent.
19th April - Called Newcastle Head office. The man said that they had NOT received my second bank statement and that my claim is still not processed.
22nd April - Made yet another trip to the Job center. Asked them to EMAIL the 2ns Bank statement, so that it is all in hand.
24th April - Phoned Newcastle again, they said that they HAVE recieved the email, but I need to fill in a JSA5 and CMS1 before I can get paid!?
Went back this morning and was asked to fill in this massive form about my backdated payment, and was told that I should have been paid for my initial claim (21st March onwards).

Right now, Im fed up with having to keep going back and forth to the job centre, and being told different things by different people. I was told that from the 21st March, I would be paid but the backdated payment would take longer. It has now been over a month, I have been to the job center 7 times, and it still isnt sorted.

My question is, if I just quit my claim now, will I still get paid from 11 Jan - Today (assuming I get it backdated), or will I get no money at all?!

Please help me someone. If anyone has any questions, please ask!
