I am self employed and been claiming carers allowance for many years, as my profit has been minimal. I have just started a new job which is a 12 hour/week contract. With the new job alone I am well under the allowed £100/week limit to be able to claim CA. However if I do get much in the way of work coming my way in my self-employed role it might well push me just over the £100 limit.
I really don't know whether to stop the CA and risk being out of pocket if I don't get any self-employed jobs, or leave it be and risk owing CA at the end of the year. If I am overpaid CA I wouuld obviously pay it back but would I also get into any kind of trouble?
