I have been chatting to a relative in Yorkshire about benefits, and discussing the rates received, obviously she gets the same as me, and her lifestyle is pretty much the same as mine.
The difference being that prices are so much higher in London, my water rates, council tax, plus fuel and food are so different.
We did a comparison last week of expenditure, bought the same items in the same supermarket, and divided out income accordingly for bills. She was a whole £9 a week better off than me.
Doesn't seem fair somehow.
