Hi all, came here for a bit of help as iv tried calculating what im entitled to when I start my new job in May on the online HMRC website which doesn't work that far ahead. Anyway, I've been unemployed for 18 months so all this is confusing to work out
So I have some questions if you dont mind me asking them
1. I currently live with my partner who claims child tax credits for her two children (about £116 a week total) and child benefit which is about £25 per week - this currently gets paid weekly. This stopped for 6 weeks when I moved into the house they lived in over a year ago while the tax office calculated the new rates due to my partner not being a single parent household anymore. Am I right in assuming that this will not stop getting paid for any period of time whilst I put my claim in for working tax credit when starting my new job as the living arrangements have not changed?
2. My new job is worth £14,280 P/A - but to claim tax credits for the job starting May 2013, I calculate my income from April 2012- April 2013, right? Of which was purely jobseekers allowance, as well as Disability Living Allowance for myself. As I was jointly claiming for myself and my partner, do I use the total figure received in my account every two weeks (Around £307), bearing in mind half of it was my partners money, or just half the total figure to reflect just my earnings of £154 every 2 weeks
3. Roughly, how much would I expect to receive for the April 2013-April 2014 calendar year from the information given? The only member of the household working with two children dependant on me, dont pay childcare costs, claiming DLA (not higher rates mind you)
4. Will my partner lose any Child Tax Credits due to me starting work soon?
Thank you to anyone who can help answer my questions. I appreciate you probably get lots of these questions asked daily, but its all confusing to me, lol!
