After spending some considerable time following weather forecasts and wondering why cold weather payments aren't being triggered where i live, (as many people are?) i have finally discovered why. My weather station is located some 20 miles away, at a considerably lower altitude. I've been wondering where this weather station was, all winter.
Here is a link to the weather stations which have triggered, and how many times each has triggered, for a cwp, (continue to scroll down,) for anyone who is uncertain of the payments they should have received.
http://statistics.dwp.gov.uk/asd/asd...2_mar_2013.pdf
62 out of the 92 weather stations used in the scheme, have triggered cold weather payments.
I hope this helps someone.
Edit - I should add, Dwp say the information provided, is only management information, not ONS, and therefore are only estimates and not actuals.
