Last week I got a council tax form requesting that i pay £1100 by the end of February....When i asked why I was told that the J.C had written to them and advised that my income based JSA had been stopped In May. This wasn't true as the only change was that My wife had started part time work and it had been reduced and as she was no longer signing on as she was doing BANK work as and when required ....I was getting a reduced JSA and was told i should have been given a form every time to fill in her earnings , something i never got..My JSA was actually stopped on October the 26th as her hours exceeded 24 per week. We have successfully applied and got Tax credits , but we are still arguing with the council tax people ....I can back up my JSA Payments with bank statements and letters which they have seen , but they have now canceled my benefits completely ....After speaking to them They are now saying we will have to re-apply from scratch ..and from what i can gather they are saying we will have to PAY something....Back dated to May ....this isn't my fault..The JC have admitted to me they messed up ..Have i got a case .....because i haven't got any money as i get NO BENEFITS only my wife's wages and tax credits....
