Hi there,
I'm on Contributory ESA in the support group and get DLA as well. I just received the new council tax stuff through the post and my first question is does everyone have to pay now no matter what benefits you are on? I was wondering (hoping!) if I were being over charged as £20 a month seems a lot, but I know they are getting quite brutal with the benefits now. I'm in Cornwall if that helps, as I know it is different according to where you live now. My second question is this, I get £108.05 a week CESA, but according to the breakdown of money on this tax form it says 'the law' says I need £121.65 a week to live on, why am I not receiving this amount? Can I/Do I need to apply for Income related ESA on top, or can you not have both kinds? I find all these benefit changes so confusing so any help is greatly appreciated.
