Why did I receive a "limited capability for work" questionnaire?

My DLA isn't due for renewal until at least Oct 2015 so why am I getting an assessement to convert IS to ESA?

If I fail this assessment will it affect my DLA?

Is there different rates of ESA?

What are they looking for? How "limited" for work does one need to be to get ESA?
