Just wondering does it cause problems if a person who receives DLA, applies for carers allowance to look after an austistic child (who gets DLA care high rate)
I myself get IB and DLA, partner gets DLA as is our autistic son. I do get an adult addition for my partner but thinking maybe she would be better off claiming carers allowance and realise I would loose the adult addition part of my IB.
A bit worried though about applying as it asks about all the benefits we all receive and just a bit worried the person from the DWP who makes the decision might think "this family get too many benefits" and could trigger an early review of some of them, though we feel that we are entitled to them for various medical and care needs.
Advice as regards this appreciated.
