I obtained a bank loan for my daughter in September last year, the amount of the loan was £7k.
Two weeks ago I got a letter from DWP asking me to explain why I has a large sum of money paid into my account, and also why I was getting a sum of £250pm paid in. ( My daughters repayments). I wrote and explained, sending them a copy of the loan agreement and thought that was it.
Today I have received a letter inviting me to an interview, under caution regarding this matter. I can't believe they are being so ridiculous, when I rang the advisor wouldn't discuss anything with me. Should I be worried, I really think they are thinking I am working on the side.
My partner says it may be because I managed to get a bank loan at all as being on benefits, surely that's between myself and my bank not the DWP.
Advice would be appreciated.
