ESA and travel to NHS consultant

Hi,
Please could somebody help me with this problem. I'll try to present the facts as precisely as possible.

• I have recently split up with my wife and I am currently living 100 miles away.
• I was claiming JSA, but my GP has recently given me a sick note and today (27/2/13) I filed a claim for ESA.
• I am suffering with mental health problems and my new GP wants me to keep an appointment with a consultant 100 miles away next week (the consultant is willing to still see me).
• But I cannot afford the travel costs, is there anyway I can claim to get the travel costs back? It will involve a 200 mile round trip and the consultant's appointment is in a town that does not have a railway station.

I asked my Jobcentre Plus advisor but they could not help. Any advice would be very, very, welcome
