on SSP can I claim other benefits?

Hi, I had an accident at work last October, I am struggling meet my mortgage payment and daily bills, I just found ut I can tt claim industrial injuries benefit, I rang dhss and they said I am not entitled to any help. I would be better off if I signed on the dole which I do not want to do!

I am wondering can anyone give me any advice as to regarding benefits please?

I am currently getting working and child tax credits and Statutory sick pay
