My boyfriend is currently claiming a mixture of job seekers allowance and carers allowance. He cares for his disabled mother so is unable to work. At the moment he rents a room in a private house and gets his rent paid for. We are looking to move in together in the near future, I am currently earning £22000 a year and live in a house which is I am buying. If he moves in with me, will this affect his job seekers allowance and carers allowance?? We are fully aware that he wont be able to claim for his rent any more, but am not sure if I could afford to support him if he lost all his benefits.
